Steven Brewer, CPA
Background and experience
Steven graduated from Mercer University in 2006 with a BBA in Accounting and a minor in English. Before graduating, he prepared basic tax returns at H&R Block and then interned at a local CPA firm, Lamb & Braswell, LLC, where he learned the basics of bookkeeping and payroll. After graduating, he went to work as an accounting clerk at Reeves Construction for a short time before taking a job at The Rainey Accounting Firm, LLC, where he gained valuable experience in bookkeeping, tax, and payroll. In 2013, he established his own firm specializing in working with small businesses. Steven has worked with a variety of businesses, assisting them with their accounting and tax needs, and he particularly enjoys consulting with businesses owners to grow their business and profits.

Steven is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants, and is a certified Quickbooks ProAdvisor.
On a personal note
Steven is from Waynesboro, GA – Bird Dog Capital of the World - and enjoys hunting. He is married to Nichole, owner of B Monroe Salon in Macon and Warner Robins, and they are the proud parents of two daughters. They attend New City Church, where they are active in various aspects of church ministry
Lita Buher, Office Manager
Background and experience
Lita graduated from Trevecca Nazarene University in 1994, summa cum laude, with bachelor’s degrees in psychology and social work. She completed her master’s degree in clinical psychology from Middle Tennessee State University in 1996 and taught psychology for six years. After spending several years as a stay-at-home mom, Lita discovered her true calling and passion when she began providing bookkeeping services to a small business in Macon in 2006. She then joined a local accounting firm in 2008, specializing in providing monthly bookkeeping services to small business clients.

Lita is a certified Quickbooks ProAdvisor and a member of the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers.
On a personal note
Lita was born and raised in Fitzgerald, GA. She is married and has two children, and she enjoys reading, scrapbooking, and spending time with her family in her spare time. Lita is a member of First Evangelical Church, where she teaches Sunday School and is active in various ministries.
Melinda McGinness
Background and experience
After spending years as a stay-at home mom, and homeschooling her two sons, Melinda joined the work force in 2010. Melinda will likely be the first person you speak with when you call our firm.
On a personal note
Melinda was born and raised in Haleyville, Alabama. She relocated to Macon in 1996. She is married and has two sons. She attends New City Church and enjoys traveling, dancing and spending time with her family and friends
Misty Massey, CPA
Background and experience
Misty graduated from the University of Southern Indiana in 2002 with a bachelor's degree in psychology. After graduating, she worked for many years in the quality assurance/compliance department of a major finance company. After spending one tax season working for Jackson Hewitt as a second job, she found a passion for accounting and tax work. Going back to school, she graduated with a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Accountancy in 2009 and immediately passed the CPA exam. After graduating, she began working for a medium-size accounting firm in Evansville, Indiana. There she gained valuable experience in bookkeeping and tax preparation. She left the Evansville, Indiana area and joined Steven C. Brewer CPA firm in 2017. She loves the complexity of tax work and enjoys keeping clients compliant while paying the least amount of tax allowed.

Misty is a licensed CPA in the State of Indiana and is a certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor.
On a personal note
Misty was born and raised in Chandler, Indiana (a small town near Evansville, Indiana). Misty has a bit of an unusual work environment, as she works remotely in her travel trailer (RV) she shares with her husband, Jason and their two dachshunds, Sam and Allie. They sold their house in Evansville in 2017 and have been traveling the United States ever since. She enjoys the flexibility remote work provides and loves experiencing different parts of the country while she works. She also enjoys reading and watching Netflix.
Kaitlin Burgess
Background and experience
Kaitlin graduated from Middle Georgia State University in 2018 with a BS in Accounting and is currently pursuing her master's of management degree at MGSU. Kaitlin focuses primarily on providing payroll, bill-payment, and monthly bookkeeping services to various clients.

On a personal note
Kaitlin was born in Pocatello, ID and raised in Alma, West Virginia. She married her husband, Max, in May of 2018. Kaitlin enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends and working out.
